Torifito Kanazawa, designed by Wataru Omameuda, breaks away from the conventional hotel experience and offers a new perspective on hospitality. With 161 guest rooms and a large communal bath near Kanazawa Station, this hotel caters to a diverse range of guests with different purposes. Whether you're a business traveler, on a girls' trip, or simply looking for a comfortable stay, Torifito Kanazawa has something unique to offer.
What sets Torifito Kanazawa apart is its clear targeting and fusion with local culture. Instead of relying solely on interior design, the hotel focuses on providing a tailored experience for its guests. The spacious communal bath and a club lounge that can be used throughout the day and night create a sense of community and relaxation. The hotel aims to support guests in closing their day, whether it's unwinding after a busy day of meetings or enjoying a girls' night out.
One of the challenges in designing Torifito Kanazawa was the deformed site. To overcome this, the design team created two entrances that allow for smooth flow of people and transformed the alley-like space into an "art corridor" by displaying artwork on the walls. The guest rooms feature a "bench sofa by the window" that takes advantage of the scenic views, integrating relaxation with the space.
With a total floor area of 4821.75 square meters and 161 rooms, Torifito Kanazawa offers a comfortable and affordable stay. The hotel's architectural plan and coordination with the local culture ensure a unique and memorable experience for guests.
Torifito Kanazawa was designed between April 2019 and October 2019, with construction taking place from November 2019 to March 2021. The project was a result of extensive research and analysis, focusing on the theme of "Chemical reaction by adding a community." The design team aimed to create accommodations that cater to the needs of real users and capture the ideas of the target audience.
This innovative hotel design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious award acknowledges the hotel's well-designed, practical, and innovative approach, meeting professional and industrial requirements. Torifito Kanazawa stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and contribution to a better world.
